With the start of the year, it's only natural for people to have new promises of what they would like to achieve. Personally, I didn't make any New Year Resolutions but I did aim to blog more and share food experiences as much as I could. Sadly, the past couple of months have been physically difficult for me as I struggled to maintain my health to its usual condition.
During Sinulog 2015 weekend, I contracted Viral Exanthem, which prohibited me from going out so I could not infect anyone else. A few weeks later, I got infected with Amoebiasis and this really weakened me. Two weeks later, on Valentine's day, I got sick with a cold. So yes, I'm so unlucky with health issues this year. Hopefully, when I get better from my cold, I won't be sick anymore.
Since getting sick, I haven't been able to go anywhere that much except for work, home, and do some groceries. But despite this, I've noticed a few new restaurants and cafes that have opened. There were also some that were still opening soon in Cebu City.
I'll be checking out some of these places soon but if you want to go ahead, you can visit them and let me know how well your experience was. Here are some of the new restaurants to check out in Cebu:
My friend Stefanie was among the first to share photos of this new establishment on her Facebook page. It immediately excited me and I couldn't wait to visit. Especially since I've been complaining of the lack of good breakfast places to visit, having Yolk as an option would be something to look forward to. At the same time, they have an exquisitely designed interior that makes me want to just stay in there the whole day. Don't you?

Ironbound Coffee
On my way to work, I always notice this tarpaulin that says "Welcome to Cebu Ironbound Coffee." This made my curiosity grow. I haven't been able to learn much about the cafe and what they serve since they don't have an active Facebook page yet. But after googling their business name, I discovered that they mainly are distributors of Astra Espresso Machines in the country, which makes their coffee really promising. I can't wait to visit soon!

Another friend (Jewel) posted about her new discovery-- The Seafood Master, which was situated in A.S. Fortuna, Mandaue. The restaurant offered a fine mix of Singaporean fare, seafood dishes and Asian fusion recipes. I'm excited to try this as well!
After opening in Ayala Center Cebu, Burger King has opened their first standalone branch complete with a drive-thru option in Mabolo. What's even better is that they are open 24 hours!

Operating Hours: 24 hours
Viking's Luxury Buffet
This is one of my favorite buffets in Manila. When I saw that they were opening a new branch in SM City Cebu, I really couldn't contain my excitement. Every time I visit SM, I would check if they have already opened. As of this writing, there has been no update on when they would be opening.
Location: 2nd Floor, North Wing, SM City Cebu, North Reclamation, Cebu City
YakiMix
Another buffet that I'm excited to open in Cebu is YakiMix. Considering the building where I saw the tarp is still being constructed, it would probably take a while before they open.
Location: (across Escario Central Mall)
Picasso Cafe
There's another cafe that's going to be added to the list of cafes in Cebu. As of this writing, the establishment is being renovated into what will soon be Picasso Cafe. It looks promising as it is a 2-storey building exclusively for the cafe.
